The short version
Your roster — names, seating rules, layouts — is processed entirely in your browser and is never sent to, or stored on, any server we operate, and never appears in our analytics. There's no account and no login. We use Google Analytics to see aggregate usage (which pages get visited, which buttons get clicked) — never what you actually type into the tool. Payments are handled by a third-party processor, Dodo Payments, which briefly is described below — see also our Terms of Service.
What we don't collect
Names, seating rules, layout choices, and anything else you type into the seating tool never leave your browser. We don't log it, store it, back it up, or have any technical way to see it. This isn't a promise layered on top of a database — there simply is no server-side database for that data to live in, and no analytics event we send ever includes it.
We don't run any advertising scripts, ad pixels, or third-party trackers used for behavioral advertising on this site. The one exception — Google Analytics — is described in full below.
Analytics — Google Analytics (GA4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used in aggregate: which pages get visited, and interactions with specific buttons like "Create a free chart" or "Buy Smart Chart." This is limited to page views and named UI interactions — it never includes anything you type into the roster, rules, or layout controls, and Google Analytics has no technical access to that data, since it never leaves your browser to begin with.
Google Analytics sets cookies and processes standard technical data (like your approximate location from IP address, browser, and device type) under its own privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking sitewide using Google's browser opt-out add-on, or block it with a browser extension or content blocker — the tool itself works identically either way, since nothing about its actual functionality depends on analytics.
What is stored, and where
- In your browser's local storage — saved charts (Smart Chart and Seating Pro), and a small license record proving a purchase was made (a product name, a payment ID, and a cryptographic signature). Local storage stays on your device and browser; we have no access to it, and clearing your browser data clears it.
- On our email — if you use the contact form or make a purchase, the name/email/message you provide, or your purchase confirmation email, is received at our inbox so we can reply or send a receipt. We don't use it for anything else.
Payments — handled by Dodo Payments
Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, a third-party payment processor. We never see or store your card details — Dodo Payments collects and processes that information directly, under its own privacy policy, available at dodopayments.com/legal/privacy-policy. Dodo Payments may share limited purchase details with us (such as the product bought, a payment ID, and, where provided, your email address) so we can confirm your purchase and send a receipt. Cookies
We don't set any cookies ourselves, and don't use any advertising cookies. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to distinguish visitors, as described above. Saved charts and purchase records are kept in your browser's local storage (not a cookie), described in "What is stored, and where" above.
Your choices
Clearing your browser's local storage removes any saved charts and the locally stored license record from that browser — you can restore access afterward with your payment ID from the pricing page. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change too. Since there's no account system, we can't email every past visitor about updates — check back here if you want the current version.
