Add a rule below — e.g. keep two people apart, or seat someone at the front.
"Seating chart" means completely different problems depending on who's asking. A teacher needs 30 desks and a couple of behavior-driven separations. A wedding planner needs 15 round tables, a head table, and two families who shouldn't end up next to each other. A conference organizer needs a banquet room and a rule about not seating two competing sponsors together. Most tools pick one of those and build for it. This one switches between Desks and Tables and keeps the same rule solver, the same click-to-swap, and the same PDF export underneath either way.
What actually separates it from a spreadsheet or a slide full of boxes: you describe the constraint once — "keep these two apart," "this person needs the front row" — and the solver checks whether an arrangement satisfying every rule at once actually exists, before you spend twenty minutes dragging names around to find out by hand.
Classroom seating chart
Rows, pairs, or pods, sized for a class roster.
Random seating chart
Paste names, pick a size, shuffle. Nothing else to configure.
Wedding seating chart
Arrange guests into tables instead of desks.
Wedding table planner
Set table sizes and place guests table by table.
Table planner
For dinners, banquets, and any event seated at tables.
Anything arranged into desks or tables — classrooms, weddings, banquets, conferences. Switch "Arranging" between Desks and Tables and the whole tool, including the rule names, adapts to match.
No login, ever. Paste your list and go. If you buy Smart Chart or Seating Pro later, that purchase is tied to a payment ID, not an account.
"Keep apart", "Keep together", "Front row" (or "Head table" in Tables mode), "Aisle seat", and "Fixed seat" are all available, and the free rule solver checks instantly whether your rules can all be satisfied together.
The solver tells you exactly which rule to relax rather than just failing silently — so you're never stuck guessing why it didn't work.
No. Everything runs in your browser tab — names, layout, rules never leave your device, whether you're on the free tier or a paid one.
