Your rules — 0Smart seating

Add a rule below — e.g. keep two people apart, or seat someone at the head table.

For the seating chart nobody wants to think about

Divorced parents who need to be nowhere near each other. An ex who should end up a safe distance from the head table, not two seats over. Two friend groups that have never quite gotten along, now sharing a reception hall. None of that needs a color-coded spreadsheet or a wall of sticky notes — describe each one as a rule ("different tables," "keep apart") and the solver checks it against everyone else's seating at the same time, so fixing one problem doesn't quietly create three more.

Guest lists also never stay final. Someone RSVPs no a week out, a plus-one gets added, a table needs to shrink from 10 to 8. Update the roster or table sizes and regenerate — the rules you already set still apply, so you're not starting the whole chart over because the numbers moved.
